mk Technology Group, along with its parent company Maschinenbau Kitz in Troisdorf near Bonn in Germany, has taken over all shares in the Austrian company E-M-M-A GmbH, based in Wiener Neudorf near Vienna. The takeover has allowed the profile and conveyor technology specialist to add a highly attractive flat top chain conveyor system to its product portfolio. The new location has also seen mk strengthen its presence in Austria and continue its strategy for growth in the DACH region. Furthermore, it helps mk’s objective to better meet the requirements of its customers in neighbouring national markets.
Development of the Location
“We intend to integrate E-M-M-A into the group and develop it as a new mk location in Austria,” explains Sascha Krebs, who is Managing Director of Maschinenbau Kitz and responsible for the DACH region. In the future, E-M-M-A will offer the full range of mk profile and conveyor technology and system solutions. E-M-M-A’s tried and tested plastic chain conveyors, also known as flat top chain conveyors, fill a gap in the mk product portfolio. As a result, customers can receive everything they need from a single source through their usual contact persons.
Good Talks
In the talks with Hannes Lederbauer, Managing Director and founder of E-M-M-A GmbH, it quickly became apparent that mk and E-M-M-A would be a good match: “It was becoming clear to me that I couldn't continue to run the business for ever,” says Hannes Lederbauer. “I wanted to know that the future of the company and location was in safe hands.” mk also saw huge potential: “To best meet the needs of our customers in the region, we needed an expert partner in Austria,” explains Sascha Krebs. “And as the contact with Mr Lederbauer had been so positive, it felt like an obvious move for us to offer him full integration into the mk Technology Group.” That also fitted with the aims of Hannes Lederbauer and E-M-M-A exceptionally well. “Naturally, on an emotional level it’s not easy to put your baby in someone else’s hands,” says Hannes Lederbauer. “But on a rational level, it was the best possible outcome.”
A Success for Everyone Involved
As a member of the mk Technology Group, E-M-M-A has a financially strong and solid partner to count on. That also gives it the capabilities to reliably implement larger projects. “Our customers benefit in every regard,” says Hannes Lederbauer. “They have access to a complete range of profile and conveyor technology that is the perfect addition to our current product portfolio.” Many E-M-M-A customers can also be found in the mk customer base. In the future, they will be able to acquire all the products they need from one single source. The integration of E-M-M-A GmbH is therefore a win-win situation for everyone involved. “It is really rare for everything to fit together so well,” says Hannes Lederbauer. The E-M-M-A founder will also remain at the company as Managing Director. “That now gives us the opportunity to shape the takeover with care and make it sustainably successful.”
