FachPack 2018 – Components and Complete Solutions from the Construction Kit

At FachPack 2018, the European trade fair for packaging, processes and technology held in Nuremberg from 25 to 27 September 2018, E-M-M-A GmbH will present feeding and interlinking solutions based on its flat top chain conveyors and the conveyor technology of the mk Technology Group, of which Emma has recently become a member. The exhibition stand will showcase E-M-M-A's flat top chain conveyors with automatically adjustable side rails and a universal exhibit that impressively demonstrates the wide range of possible functions. In addition, E-M-M-A will present a telescopic flat top chain conveyor and a selection of mk belt conveyors.

The increasing importance of packaging in the transport and storage of goods has made the packaging industry the most important actor between the manufacturer and the end consumer. This market defines variant diversity (the range of possible variants) as a key factor in the requirements for packaging machines and systems. As a member of the mk Technology Group, in addition to its flat top chain conveyors, also known as plastic chain conveyors, E-M-M-A offers a broad range of conveyor technology that can flexibly and efficiently satisfy the diverse requirements of the industry at all times, even with small batch sizes.

As a special feature, E-M-M-A will be presenting its flat top chain conveyors for tailor-made transport system solutions at its exhibition stand. A sophisticated universal exhibit demonstrates an impressive selection of the range of functions that the E-M-M-A modular construction kit can cover. A hinge band with magnetic conveyor chain transports metallic items within a three-dimensional space. However, non-metallic products can also be transported vertically, for example via patented pressure rollers. A small pallet circulation system implements the stopping and separating functions, while bottles are transported on another conveyor and transferred via a clamping conveyor.

Another feature of the exhibition stand is a flat top chain conveyor with automatically adjustable side rails. This system can be set to alternating sizes in less than three minutes, significantly reducing set-up times and associated downtime. Sophisticated and proven software allows sizes to be set up quickly and easily at the click of a button. The high repeat accuracy of the system ensures that re-start times are kept to an absolute minimum after the changeover. The E-M-M-A side rails are suitable for any standard conveyor system and can easily be retrofitted to existing systems.

In addition, E-M-M-A will show its Telescopic Slide Gate flat top chain conveyor. The Telescopic Slide Gate increases efficiency through optimum utilisation of the hall space with minimal installation effort. All maintenance and set-up stations are accessible without restriction. Short operator paths save time, facilitate tool changes and ensure faster material replenishment. When opening the gate, the entire system can continue to run, thereby reducing downtime.

In addition to the flat top chain conveyors, E-M-M-A will also be exhibiting a selection of belt conveyors for feeding and interlinking from the mk Technology Group. These are extremely well suited for transporting piece goods without special requirements regarding their location and position. Thanks to the closed belt surface, it is possible to transport products with any kind of base geometry.
