their own business. They found H.-J. Kitz, and the
new mkf GmbH company was born. The name was
created from the initials of the three founders, as the
original fax shows. Having started producing custom
machines in a building formerly occupied by the East
German secret police, the Stasi, mkf is now headquartered
in Lederhose in the state of Thuringia and is an
expert in automation solutions and clean room technology.
“With 80 employees and an area of 3000 m2
in 2015, mkf is proud to call a large number of renowned
high-tech companies its longstanding and
loyal customers,” says mkf’s newly appointed chief
operating officer, Christian Voigt.
mkf ran into a financial crisis in 2005. Together with
Stephan Kitz, consultant Hermann Hauke, a former
sales manager with the corporation, helped restructure
the company. All shares were taken over by mk,
and within a few years sales had doubled.
