Since its founding in 1966, mk has enjoyed solid growth and success as a family-run mechanical engineering company. Our leitmotif, “passion for technology”, stems from the founder, Hans-Josef Kitz, and goes hand in hand with the core values of ambition, expertise and reliability. These are the pillars that guide the employees in their daily activities.
Since the very beginning, mk employees have developed a strong sense of solidarity, which has proven invaluable in challenging times and still exists today. Colleagues like to come to work and enjoy the positive working atmosphere.
This mindset can be summed up perfectly by a line from the Cologne band Bläck Fööss - „He hält m’r zosamme, ejal wat och passeet!“.
As a family-run company, we take work-life balance very seriously. Thanks to our flexible working time models, our employees can organise their time to suit their family or personal commitments. In 2017, mk also introduced an occupational health management programme. In cooperation with external partners, employees learn about different health topics through regular promotional days, such as the Veggie Day or the Health Check.
In order to manage energy, materials and resources in a sustainable manner, we comply with the requirements of a certified environmental management system. For example, we obtain all of our electricity from renewable energies, including the photovoltaic system on our roofs. Our apprentices are also active sas energy scouts at the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They even won first prize in a competition organised by the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Commerce and Industry with an LED lighting concept and an energy guide for daily operations.
Our Code of Conduct is a guideline and point of reference to ensure respectful and cooperative working relationships with our customers, business partners and employees. It is intended to support us in the ethical and legal challenges of our daily work and to help us to act responsibly, appropriately and legally.
