As an intern or trainee at mk, you can see how exciting a career in mechanical engineering can be at first hand. You will work on real projects, gain practical experience and work with members of the team, who will help you develop your skills.
Are you committed? Did you do well at school, and do you know exactly why this apprenticeship is the right one for you? Then you have a good chance of becoming an apprentice at mk. We are looking for someone who participate rather than observe. You will work directly with a team, receive great support from our trainers and have good chances of being taken on at the end of the apprenticeship. What do we expect from you in return? Student Internships
We offer internships for students throughout the year. It is best if you send us your application six months in advance so that we can review it in good time. After that, we will invite you to an interview and possibly a taster day.
We also carry out cooperation projects with schools, such as robot workshops and career exploration days. We provide students with insights into various professions and our training opportunities during those events.
Invite the apprentice ambassador to your class
If you and your classmates want to find out more about training at mk, simply ask your teacher to contact the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Commerce and Industry to set up an appointment. The ambassador tells you about their first-hand experience and provides information about the professions and tips for your applications.

The application phase for the next year of training starts every year in October. At the latest, we should receive your documents by February.

- A convincing cover letter describing your reasons for applying. Which apprentice position are you applying for? Why would you like to work for us? Why are you the right person for the apprenticeship?
- A CV in tabular form containing your contact details
- Any relevant certificates, e.g. your last two school certificates and, if applicable, internship certificates
After we have reviewed your application, you will receive confirmation of receipt by e-mail. The subsequent review by HR may take some time, but we will try to provide you with feedback as soon as possible.
The last school certificate you received is sufficient for your application. Simply send us your school leaving certificate at a later time.
Apprenticeships start every year on 1 August.
Apprenticeships last 3 to 3.5 years, depending on the occupation.
The training time may be reduced, provided that the results of your interim exam are good (final exam part 1) and you perform well on site. The maximum time the training can be reduced by varies according to the role.
There are opportunities with our subsidiaries if your academic and professional performance meet the criteria.
The working hours are the same as for other employees, 7.4 hours per day.
The vocational school depends on the occupation. You can find details on the vocational schools for specific skilled occupations under Quick facts.
We give you time to study after vocational school, so you do not have to come to work on vocational school days.
