Task
Unfolded shoe boxes first need to be sprayed with adhesive and then folded in the next machine in a packaging plant. A conveyor must transport the cartons past the spraying units, around a curve and to the box folding machine. The system is designed to process up to 115 cartons per minute, which is why a speed of 60 m/min is necessary. Furthermore, the cartons must be sprayed as they pass through the system and reliably transported in a stable position. In addition, the transport route should be modular and flexible enough to allow the customer to install it in different systems and use it variably.
mk solution
The mk Versaflex flat top chain conveyor system was used to satisfy our customer’s requirements in the most ideal way. The flat top chain allows the conveyor to convey both over straight paths and around curves. The cartons lie directly on the transport chain and jut out over the chain. They also rest on lateral guide rails next to the transport chain to ensure stable transportation. Pressure rollers made of sponge rubber additionally press the cartons onto the transport chain from above so that they are also fixed in the Y-direction. The entire conveying path was divided into several segments, which are connected to each other. This allows the customer to position the line on different systems.
