Automated system line for rhizotron screening

Problem definition
Planning, design, and construction of an automated system line for rhizotron screening (researching the root growth of plants). The rhizotron packages should be capable of being pivoted automatically and being removed individually for recurring photography in a darkened housing. Process reliability for valid research results must be ensured.

mk Solution
Profile frame of series 40 with pivot drive via spindle lift gear motor and coupling rods. A double LZR 2005 serves as the base axis for the camera housing, an LZR 2000 is used for removal of the rhizotrons and as an axis to approach the camera position. The housing is designed in profile construction with a roller blind so that it is light proof.
