Definition of the task
A supplier in the automotive industry requires a conveyor system for supplying and removing standardised heavy-weight plastic pallets measuring 1200 x 800 mm. The plastic boxes on these pallets contain aluminium parts to be transported into the gripping area of a robot. Once the parts have been removed, the empty pallets need to be returned on a parallel line for reloading.
A in-feed and out-feed combination with four drive segments based on the mk RBM-P roller conveyor proved to be the ideal solution for this requirement. In this case, the rollers are driven by a chain from roller to roller. When the pallets are placed on the conveyor, they are pre-positioned by rolling side rails. Once the pallets have been transported into the gripping area of the robot, they are stopped there without accumulation and the boxes are centred on the pallets. The robot removes the individual parts from the boxes and places them on the pallets of a circulation system. The empty boxes are stacked on a further pallet on the out-feed line, transported away and then transported back to the start of the line ready to be reloaded. The empty pallet on the in-feed line is then transported to the out-feed line by a lift-and-transfer module and reloaded with empty boxes.
