Main conveyor line in interlinking equipment

Problem definition
In the production of titanium screws, baskets for holding the screws need to be conveyed from five lathes to the next transfer location. The conveying path needs to be adapted to the given spatial constraints. The lathes have a cycle time of 30 minutes per basket. During this time, full baskets need to be transported and empty baskets need to be returned. The lathes do not run on synchronised cycles. The baskets need to be stopped along the line and at the lathes so that they can be removed by another handling solution.

mk Solution
Main conveyor line made from GUF-P 2000 belt conveyors with a direct lower belt drive. Side rails guide the baskets along the conveying path. The conveyors run in reverse to allow both full and empty baskets to be transported in the appropriate direction. Multiple conveyors from 2000 to 3000 mm in length are combined into modules assigned to the different lathes. The conveying direction can thus be controlled independently for each lathe. The conveyors are stand-alone solutions installed on frames built from the mk profile construction kit. The conveying path is installed at a height of 2500 mm so that the line passes over other machines and keeps passages clear. Pneumatic stoppers stop the baskets at the appropriate positions for removal by a gripper.

Benefit to the customer

  • Custom-designed conveyor line built from standard mk components
  • Can be adapted to various spatial constraints
  • Modular design allows for sectional control
