Problem definition
During the machining of sheet metal parts for home appliances, sheets are pressed to shape. The pressed sheets are transported away from the press. A worker removes the sheets and places them in a transport box for further processing. Previously the worker had to remove each sheet individually. To make the workstation more ergonomic, multiple sheets are to be stacked atop one another so that the worker can process entire stacks. The conveyor must be height-adjustable at the discharge end to accommodate workers’ different heights. The press can press sheets in different formats, so the height at which they are discharged varies. Therefore the conveyor must be height-adjustable at the infeed end as well. A single person needs to be able to adjust the height without tools.
mk Solution
GUF-P 2041 belt conveyor with height-adjustable frame built of mk aluminium profiles. The height adjustment is motorised by independent motors on the discharge and infeed ends (the images show partly the first order with pneumatic height adjustment via crank handle). Fixed and swivel casters on the frame for use at different presses. Easy cycling operation: The conveyor uses sensors to detect the number of press strokes and starts the transport process after a predefined interval. The conveyor stops again after a certain distance so that the worker can remove the stack of sheets.
