A manufacturer of polystyrene insulation boxes, which are used worldwide, wants to keep its boxes in circulation and reuse them multiple times. To assist with this, a partner company is building testing machines in which the used boxes are checked fully automatically. These testing machines are to have a modular structure in the form of individual stations and can therefore be assembled individually. To construct these stations, the company needs a system to build individual frames and racks easily, quickly and cost-effectively. It also requires conveyor technology that can also be integrated into the stations. Since the modular testing machines are to go into series production, it is also important that the components are supplied by a reliable partner with the relevant expertise and good customer relationships.
For this project, mk was able to rely on both its proven conveyor technology and its extensive modular profile technology system. The individual stations are built by the customer from mk profiles with appropriate connection technology. In order to transport the polystyrene boxes through the individual function modules, mk also supplied fully assembled roller conveyors. Since the polystyrene boxes are only lightweight, mk was able to design the roller conveyors with a large width of 1700 mm. These are integrated into the individual stations. In one of the stations, the polystyrene boxes are checked for external damage using cameras. In order to avoid reflections in this area, mk provided the roller conveyor rollers with a matt white finish. The process of coming up with the finished design was made much simpler thanks to the ease of contacting the mk experts and their many years of experience in individual customer solutions.
