A customer needs a cell for integrating a robot and testing stations for checking high-precision small parts. The customers specifications for the enclosure dimensions, the carriers for the robot and testing stations and the operating and safety elements were available from the very start of the project.
The products come from a cleanroom and are to be automatically guided to the robot cell. The robot cell does not require cleanroom conditions, but dirt and contamination are to be avoided to the greatest extent possible. Mechanical interfaces have been defined for discharging parts that are okay and not okay.
A robot cell made from aluminium system profiles was defined for the application. The robot itself and the testing stations are attached by the customer at defined connection points. There is an integrated GUF-P MINI belt conveyor for feeding the small parts into the cell.
The robot deposits parts that are okay in a tray. Full and empty trays are picked by a customer-supplied tray feeder, which is connected to the enclosure.
Two manually operated drawers for discharging parts that are not okay have been integrated for the robot to deposit the parts. The mechanical design and safety features mean that the system does not have to be powered off in the process.
